Espiritu Santo Island, Vanuatu Part 2

I would say the snorkelling around Oyster Island is even better than at Champagne Beach. On one of our snorkelling trips, we followed the reef edge around the southern end of the island looking for the plane wreck we were told was there. When we had given up finding it and decided to just keep swimming all the way around to the huts to get out, we finally came across this whopping great propeller! We followed on a bit further and found the broken off body of the plane with window openings and the nose cone. Success! Actually the coral and fish were more exciting for me but at least we can say we snorkelled a wreck. Lucky we were there right on low tide or it would have been too deep for us to see properly.    Select the photo below to see more.
